MY BROKEN TOWN

A documentary about the life after the devastating earthquake in 1999, in Marmara region,Turkey. Fallowing the daily life of six families and the developments in the area the film shows us the powerfull struggel of the inhabitants to bring their broken town back to life. (85min.2001)

CAN YOU SPEAK ‘NAZIM’

A documentary about the production process of a theatre play ‘Ferhat and Şirin’ of the famous Turkish writer Nazım Hikmet; a co-production by Turkish State Theater and the Dutch theater ‘Cinema de Liefde’. An unique Project in the history of Dutch-Turkish cultural exchange.

A film about the history and the stratecy of the wel-lknown local NGO, FUNDECI in Nicaragua;  found by Padre Miguel D’EScoto Brockmann after the earthquake which destroyed Managua in 1972 (46 min. 2007)

LA RUTA DEL CAFE

Two episodes about the Primary School CAMPINAS,in the coffee farm Campinas in Matagalpa/ Nicaragua. The school is found by Statestreet Coffee Nicaragua S.A.  ‘La Ruta del Cafe’is a special Project for generating scholarships for higher education for the childeren at the countryside. A NEW DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

A Private enterprise ,Statestreet Coffee Nicaragua, works together with the local NGO FUNDECI to develop the living conditions at the countryside in Nicaragua (30 min. 2007)

THE HANGING GARDENS OF SANTA EMILIA

A documentary about the construction of a new, completely sustainable settlement on the Coffee Farm Santa Emilia,in the Matagalpa  region of Nicaragua. The Project includes housing for the workers, a huge kitchen, water prufication and the use of biogas. Everything is made by local, natural materials.This unique Project is designed by an international team of architects and engineers. (60 min. 2008)

IN THE SHADOW OF THE QUAKE

A documentary about  the ten years after the Marmara Earthquake; a fallow up of the film ‘My Broken Town’in 1999.The main focus of the film is: What happened to those families and people in their hometowns during this ten years?(60 min. 2009)

A documentary about the vision and the philosophy of the prominent Nicaraguan diplomat /politician Padre Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann.He is an adherent of liberation theology, served as a minister of foreign affairs in FSNL goverment from 1979 to 1990. In 2008-2009 he was the president of the UN General Assembly.(16 min. 2011)

LIVING IN BETWEEN

A documentary about the story of the villagers of Bayalish Mouza in Orissa which used te be one of the poorest states in India. Socioligist Carel Tenhaeff  from Holland and Sanjay Khauta from India were
doing research in the region in 1979. After 32 years they go back to the place to vind out what happened to the ideals of those days.(35 min. 2011)
